Shed Dormer Water Damage

The plan was to put in a skylight in the opening of the existing ceiling joists. To replace what had been flashed over with metal. And to address the concave area of roof just above it. Right away I found evidence of water damage. There were many layers to peal back and the amount of rot and mold was extensive. Never seen anything this bad.
Phase Two will be Interior only: Expose far joist and raise up ceiling hight. Finish ‘Plating’ exposed joists and LVL Beam with pine ply for staining. Adding or adjusting trim. Finish blending in popcorn ceiling. And of course staining, painting, and strategic use of tinted sealant.
